A Night Out in SF

Although we got to SF last Friday and spent the weekend here we didn’t really get to go out much due to being sleep deprived and still sorta on east coast time which means this is our first real weekend to get out and socialize. Last night we hit up the Upper Haight neighborhood and after some Lebanese food, hookahs, and happy hour at Kan Zaman checked out Milk Bar which is such a great DJ spot. It was pretty dead for Thursday at 9 PM (I need to start a Thurs happy hour there like ASAP) but at least we got to see the space. We’ll make sure to hit it up again at prime time and check someone good out, looks like they have bands too which is always fun. Then we hopped back over to our hood, the Mission, for the homie Karlo at Laszlow (watch out it plays music when you open it, that’s annoying as hell) which was a grown and sexy crowd with dope hip hop and breaks in the speakers, just our kind of spot.

Tonight starts early and goes late…or early, however you look at it. We’re gonna start off by hitting up the Spindig holiday happy hour at Triple Crown which includes DJ Stef who I chilled with a bit last year at SXSW. I think Triple Crown is at the north end of the Mission (but I could be totally wrong on neighborhoods because I’m still getting used to all that) so after that we’re gonna check out what seems to be a HUGE event, the Mission Holiday Block Party. I’ve been hearing stories of free drinks and DJs in the stores so I’m pretty psyched to check it out. Later in the night we’re probably going to hit up Elbo Room for DJ B.cause and others rocking the Groove Merchant 20th Anniversary Party (with a special guest who I’ve heard rumors about and hope they’re true…) and then run over to nearby SOM for a crazy Kanye-themed G.O.O.D. Friday party with a ton of sweet DJs including King Most. That’s just tonight. We’ll see what pops up tomorrow, I know a few events but not sure what exactly we’re gonna get into yet. Big night!

Check out the YouTube they put together for the G.O.O.D. Friday party below and then the tight G.O.O.D. Music BET Music Awards cypher used in the flyer video.

I want to make a G.O.O.D. artists mix so bad right now. Might have to, they’re all so on point.
